 Baby 'bomb' stops plane?

Baby 'bomb' stops plane?

03 Feb, 2012 06:57 AM
QANTAS is not yet confirming that it was a dirty nappy that resulted in the Boeing 767 performing an unscheduled landing in Mount Isa on Sunday night.

Flight 825 from Darwin to Brisbane made an emergency landing in Mount Isa after passengers and crew complained of a strange smell in the cabin.

A commentator on the Aviation Herald website, "Frank Smith" claimed the fumes were a very smelly nappy "dumped in the forward toilet".

A Qantas spokeswoman said yesterday the claim was "unconfirmed".

"We have yet to confirm what caused the fumes," she said.

The plane was cleared by Qantas engineers to fly back to Brisbane on Monday afternoon.

The fact that Mount Isa Airport did not have stairs high enough to reach the door of the 767, resulting in passengers being evacuated by a cage on a forklift made the news all around Australia and New Zealand.

What a disgusting article. What sort of white buck toothed trailer trash would leave a filthy used nappy sitting in the aisle of an aeroplane??? It was more likely one of the curried egg sandwiches served up for breakfast.

Oops, I wonder what odor that could be? Anyone have any ideas? A rotting engine ready to fall off? A fire in cargo? Or simply a stacked nappy some parent who should’ve told the crew but was too embarrassed who had tried flushing the remnants of their child’s lunch literally down the drain, to no great avail….
