Mara topped off a solid ride in the heats with a massive 92 point ride in the final to finish on an aggregate score of 180.
"It was a PB [personal best] and my first win at PBR so I'm really happy," he said.
Mara pipped second place getter Brett Hanrahan who also posted an impressive score in the final round of 90.5 with an aggregate of 171.
New South Wales cowboy Mick Ford and 2011 Isa Rodeo champion David Kennedy tied for third with final scores of 167.
Other big scores of the night included a 90 point ride by Luke Nichols aboard former Australian bucking bull of the year Wild Thing.
Chute boss and former PBR world champion Troy Dunn said he was impressed with the calibre of bull riding at the event.
"There's been quite a few good bullrides," he said. Dunn said the crowd was lucky to witness such high scoring rides.
"You don't see these kinds of rides every day," he said. The night didn't go quite to plan for Toowoomba cowboy Cameron Dixon who was taken to the hospital after being trampled by his mount.
PBR will come to Mount Isa later this year as part of the Mount Isa Show.
