REGISTRATIONS are now open for the 2010 Xstrata Mount Isa Mining Expo.
The event is set to be the largest on record as the expo celebrate its 15th year in April.
It is expected to be one of the largest exhibitions in the history of Mount Isa with an estimated 150 exhibitors and 8500 attendees predicted to participate.
Organisers were already preparing to mark the 15 year milestone with invitations being sent to senior government and industry representatives to attend the official opening function, the distribution of anniversary memorabilia and with a special celebration to link business, community and industry.
Organisers say both plans for the opening function and the community celebration will remain a mystery until the event gets closer.
The Xstrata Mount Isa Mining Expo offers exhibitors the opportunity to showcase their product to managers, purchasing officers, suppliers, business owners and other mining industry officials.
Fire Lift Engineering director Yancy McDonald said the expo was a great way to showcase the organisation’s services.
“Last year’s expo was fantastic that resulted in a number of organisational benefits including numerous business leads and real value for money – it’s the reason why we’ve upgraded our site for 2010,” he said.
Organisers will also host a range of events including meet the buyers sessions, the mining the Carpentaria breakfast, and a family fun afternoon that provides a light entertainment forum for children and families of the city.
