TONY McGrady launched his Advance Mount Isa team over the weekend, ready to contest the now delayed local governmetn elections on April 28.
A former Mount Isa Mayor, councillor and Queensland minister, Mr McGrady said his team would not be bogged down with the rivalry of the previous councils.
"Unlike the other two teams, we will examine every issue on its merit and we won't have to defend the reasons why we didn't do it when had the chance either in the present council or the previous one."
Mr McGrady claimed his team was a unique blend of talent.
"We have experience but at the same time fresh ideas from the younger candidates.
"We have candidates who have lived here all their lives as well as candidates who have lived her for five years, like so many of our residents," he said.
He said he was particularly happy to have a candidate on board, Anne Seymour, who presented the views and would look after the interests of the people of Camooweal and the rural parts of the Mount Isa City Council area.
"I believe we are competitive, we are hungry to be successful, and I wish all the candidates the best of luck and in the interests of the city we all love, I hope the best team wins."
