THE professional bull riders are bucking into Mount Isa in June for two nights filled with rank bulls, high scores and big wrecks as a part of the 2012 Buffs Club Mount Isa Show.
The Mount Isa Show PBR-sanctioned bull ride will showcase some of the most promising rising stars of the PBR, riding alongside fan favourites and veterans as competitors face off against some of the states toughest bucking bulls.
A part of the enormous line up of entertainment on show at the 2012 Buffs Club Mount Isa Show the PBR event June 22-23 will feature bull riders from around Australia battling it out for over $10,000 in prize-money, in what will be one of western Queensland's toughest competitions.
After record crowds in 2011, organisers of the annual Mount Isa Show are excited at hosting an event of such calibre. Ranita Toholke, Mount Isa Show Committee secretary said: "Entertainment and pleasing the crowds is a huge part of what the Mount Isa Show is all about. We know that many organisations have looked into providing Mount Isa their very own PBR event and we are extremely excited about being able to deliver.
"With Mount Isa being the last qualifying event for the PBR International Cup Series and Australian finals in July, the event is expected to attract the highest ranked riders representing QLD, NSW, Victoria, NT and New
Zealand as they strive for the valuable points that count towards the Australian Championship and $20 000 bonus. "For the community and Mount Isa this means not only a great show but some great exposure for the city" said Mrs Toholke.
With bull power to be supplied by North Western Queensland's premier stock contractor and former Australian Bull Riding champion Darren Brandenburg, the crowds can be assured that PBR riders will be delivered the ultimate test.
In preparation for the stellar year the Mount Isa Show committee encourages the local community to get behind the event and business owners to come on board with a number of sponsorship opportunities now available.
Ms Toholke said: "Tickets will be on sale at the Buchanan Park gates both nights for just $10 for children and $20 for adults and include admission to the Mount Isa Show."
