BUOYED by the success of its school holiday program, Isa Skills Youth Services will host an indigenous cultural afternoon tomorrow for children aged 10 to 18.
The afternoon will be held by the skills agency in conjunction with ministry organisation Youth With a Mission (YWAM).
Isa Skills youth support co-ordinator Leanne Joseph said the afternoon would celebrate the Pacific Islander culture and give Mount Isa children an outlet for their creativity.
"We're getting the youth of Mount Isa engaged in positive activities," she said.
"They'll be able to perform dances and sing songs and have a good time."
YWAM workers from around the world will teach attendees songs and dances from Pacific Island countries such as Fiji, Tonga, Samoa, New Zealand and Hawaii.
"It's pretty cool to see a Japanese person and an Australian person together all doing these Islander dances," Ms Joseph said.
She said the school holiday program of activities was successful with participation numbers doubling since the last program was held.
The Indigenous cultural afternoon will be held tomorrow from 3pm to 4.30pm at Sunset Stadium on Sports Parade.
Entry is free and children must be supervised by a parent or guardian. Call Isa Skills to register.
