CASH was stolen from a roadhouse in Cloncurry this week.
Staff at the Roadrunner Roadhouse started work on Monday morning to find the till with $350 was missing.
It was believed to have been stolen between 1.30 and 3am.
"They've just come in through the side door, walked straight in and gone for the till which had the float money and walked back out again," a staff member said.
She said the roadhouse was very lucky the break-in had not been worse.
"When I heard we'd been broken-into I thought there'd be stuff everywhere and we'd lost a lot of stock, but we didn't," the staff member said.
"We're just so thankful no staff were working at the time."
She said considering Cloncurry was normally a quiet town it was a little disconcerting that there had been a few break-ins recently.
Cloncurry Police were yesterday investigating the roadhouse break-in and other break-and-enters in the area including one on Scarr Street at the end of last week.
The Roadrunner Roadhouse robbery follows another break-and-enter at Burke and Wills Roadhouse, 100 kilometres north of Cloncurry last Friday.
A male staff member said their two tills had been stolen with about $500.
Cloncurry Police said it had been reported that 15 packets of cigarettes and four bottles of rum were also taken.
Mount Isa Police crime prevention coordinator Sergeant Glen Arrold yesterday said it was too early to tell if the cases were linked.
He urged people to come forward if they had any information on either of the roadhouse break-ins.
