PBR Australia will bring 40 of the best bull riders and some of the country's most feared bulls to the copper city for the last qualifying event for the Australian Cup Series, and Mr Young said the competition would be fierce.
"Mount Isa is a do-or-die event for the riders," he said.
"It's their last chance to qualify [for the Australian Cup Series] and a lot of guys are challenging for the Australian title."
Dave Kennedy, from Kyogle in New South Wales, currently heads the standings with 3855.5 points and will aim to consolidate his lead this weekend, while second-placed rider and fellow NSW rider Lachlan Richardson, from Gresford, will be hoping for the rides of his life tomorrow and Saturday nights as he attempts to claim the top billing.
Mr Young said several other riders scheduled to come out of the chute in Mount Isa were in tremendous form and were on the cusp of qualifying for the Australian Cup Series.
"Some riders are in sensational form and are just on the bubble [of qualifying]," he said.
"Chris Lowe and Jock Connolly will be up there and working hard to make their mark."
The beast every rider wants to go head-to-head with is the legendary Wild Thing, who was the 2010 bucking bull of the year and is renowned for challenging even the best cowboy.
Mr Young said for a rider to get the best of a bull like Wild Thing, it all came down to skill.
"It's about ability and technique," he said
The action starts at 6.30pm tomorrow night.
