CLONCURRY rugby league identity and Northern Outback Rugby League administrator Chris Waters has been announced as the inaugural winner of the Queensland Rugby League Northern Divisions 2011 Volunteer of the Year Award.
North West Development Officer Scott Kyle said Chris dedicates much of his time to the development of rugby league in Cloncurry, Mount Isa and the North Queensland area.
His dedication and commitment has not gone unnoticed and as the worthy receipt of this award, Chris will receive a signed 2011 Qld State of Origin Jersey compliments of the QRL Northern Division.
Also included in the prize are two tickets to next year's State of Origin game at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on July 4, as well as flights to and from Brisbane as well as accommodation, compliments of the Queensland Rugby League.

Cloncurry Shire Council Australia Day Sports Administrator of the Year; president Cloncurry Junior Rugby League; vice-president Mid West Rugby League; Queensland Indigenous under 16s team manager; Cloncurry Shire Council nominee at NQSF Sports Star Awards for Services to NQ Sport; delegate Queensland Outback Advisory Board Committee; North Queensland Marlins A grade selector; North Queensland under 14s selector; Queensland Outback A grade selector; North Queensland under 14s assistant coach/team manager; Queensland Outback A grade team manager; co-coordinator of North Queensland Sports Foundations Western Games "Jacob Lillyman Shield" Carnival; official at Cloncurry Battle of the Mines Rugby League Carnival.
Chris has also been re-appointed to the team manager's position for the Queensland Indigenous under 16s team for 2012, which will include a week-long training camp in Brisbane.
Before the team plays the NSW under 16s as a curtain raiser to the NRL All Stars vs NRL Indigenous All Stars game at Skilled Stadium on the Gold Coast on February 4.
