The city's male and female golfers paired up for the 36-hole contest, which was the first programmed major event of the year, as well as one of the most talked about.
Foursomes golf is a challenging format, designed to test even the best player's ability and forcing them to work with their playing partner as a team.
First-time pair Sue Scott and Mike Ruri were one of the teams touted as being able to produce something special and they didn't disappoint.
After returning a competitive score of 79 gross on Saturday, they found themselves three shots off the pace after Antonia and Matt Briant returned a sizzling 76 gross for the first round.
Sunday's round quickly became the Scott and Ruri show, as the pair carded an outstanding 71 gross to make them the team to beat.
Ruri's domination and length off the tee, combined with Scott's pinpoint accuracy around the greens proved to be the winning formula, as the pair eventually claimed top honours by seven strokes, allowing them to hold the Engineering Excellence silverware aloft.
After leading on Saturday, the Briant pairing secured bragging rights by posting 81 in the final round to grab gross runners-up honours.
In the handicap department, Ulla Allen managed to keep playing partner Ron Corstiaans under control to take the nett winners crown with a total of 135 nett.
Runners-up were Angie Sciascia and John Warren with 140 nett.
Alison Gordon-Dunbar and Peter Montgomery claimed the best nett score in round one with 71 and a half nett, while Annette Gordon and Rob Murphy took honours on day two with their 69 nett.
Nearest to the pin prizes were shared around for the event, with Jacob Smith (fifth hole), Ev Hopkins (fifth hole), Angie Sciascia (sixth hole), Rob Murphy (eighth and 11th holes), Ulla Allen (10th hole), Orrie Sawczak (10th hole) and Sue Scott on the 18th hole.
In women's golf, Liz Debney produced a personal best to win last week's Sunset Butchery Stableford with 47 points.
Debney's red-hot score required much adjustment from the handicap manager and left her 11 points clear of runner-up Eva Gordon.
The nearest to the pin shots were collected by Sheila Stewart on the fifth hole, while Gail Kum Sing bagged a double on the 14th and 17th holes.
