Donna Kuskopf will begin planning and implementing her new ideas from next week in preparation for the 2013 rodeo.
Ms Kuskopf is not new to the scene, having been the Xstrata Mount Isa Rotary Rodeo Charity Queen in 2008 and the current coordinator of the fundraising event.
"I'm thrilled to have been chosen by the board out of all the applicants and it's an event that means a lot to me so I just hope we can make it bigger and better," she said.
Ms Kuskopf said she would be living and breathing rodeo with her new full-time role, on top of remaining involved in the Queen Quest.
"I'll always be involved with the Queen Quest, having been a past entrant I have a lot of passion for it, but rodeo is my biggest priority now so I'll try and do as much as I can," she said.
Ms Kuskopf will work with the Rotary Clubs of the Mount Isa area to organise all the finer details of the next event, which planning for has already begun.
"I'm really looking forward to working with the board and learning what will benefit our event and make it more successful," she said.
Ms Kuskopf has been living in Mount Isa for more than a decade and said it was a natural career progression after working as the event's administration assistant for the past six months.
"I love the Isa and living here, so I will be doing this job as long as the board will have me," she said.
She kept tight-lipped about what her plans were for the event's future but said she had "so many ideas".
Ms Kuskopf will represent the Xstrata Mount Isa Rotary Rodeo at the 2012 Queensland Tourism Awards in Brisbane next Friday, where the event is nominated for the Best Event/Festival category.
