The four faces of the historic Mount Isa town clock, to be situated on the intersection of Miles Street and Rodeo Drive, are expected to be in place by New Years Eve, all parties and weather permitting.
Clock campaigner Bob Keoghan started the petition to restore the old clock in November of 2010, a labour of love he threw his heart and soul into.
Now two years on, more than 1200 signatures were on the petition and $45,000 raised for the monument.
Mr Keoghan said yesterday he was overjoyed and humbled by all the help he received during the campaign.
"I am extremely grateful to all the people who have helped support me along the way, it really shows some business people and individuals in this town are putting themselves on the line for this," he said.
The initial target of the project was $55,000, and with a current standing of $45,000 there is still an ideal $10,000 to go.
Mr Keoghan said he would keep the donation account open until mid-next week when he would officially cut off the funds.
"We are still $10,000 from our goal, we have all the money we need for the actual clock parts and installation but we'd like that extra money for maintenance and the honour board," he said.
Mr Keoghan said the team at Barkly Engineering would install the clock in the coming weeks, hopefully by Mr Keoghan's birthday on December 31.
