Mrs Martyr is not the first female president of the Mount Isa Chamber of Commerce.
My mother, Jo Donegan, who had business interests in petroleum, freight, property and hospitality, held that distinction from 1982-84.
She remains in the North West and is still the proprietor of the Gregory Downs Hotel.
We wish Mrs Martyr every success in the role.
