The teams competed in a Twenty-20 match on Saturday morning at Sunset Oval, as Ryan McGill 36 and Rory French 29 led the Gunners to 6/107.
Ben Bravos 2/8 and Alan McGill 2/12 were both miserly off their two overs, as they restricted the Gunners to a seemingly getable total.
For the Rookies, no one really got going as Alan McGill top-scored with 15 as they fell agonisingly short.
Bravos and Chris Christopheson threatened to steal the match with some late-order hitting, but Jai Graham removed Christopheson with just three overs remaining to seal victory for the Gunners.
Rory French 3/15 and Daniel Woodhouse 2/9 were the best of the Gunners' bowlers and were pivitol in restricting the Rookies run chase.
