With the usual band of bowhunter participants in attendance, the club was also happy to welcome a visiting shooter from the Sunshine Coast Bowmen group, Wayne Henery.
Henery and his wife Jan have retired and are making their way around Australia in a motorhome, stopping at bowhunting clubs along the way to keep the skills sharp and meet some like-minded individuals.
Andy Gosper recorded the highest score during the event, but special mention must to go Lindy Smith, who posted a personal best score of 640 points.
A spokesman for Mount Isa Bowhunters said Smith's score was even more impressive by the fact she doesn't use shooting aids or sights when competing.
"The score is a credit to Lindy because she didn't use any aids or sights in achieving it," he said.
"She's putting a lot of pressure one some of the other shooters who do use them."
Robert Kupke showed his diversity on the range, scoring 740 with the bow before edging out Brydon Truscott and Steve King Gee in the knife and axe throwing events.
While Gosper dominated on the range last weekend with a score of 766, it wasn't the case when he and five fellow archers went to Townsville on June 9 for the ABA Zone B titles.
Gosper, Tony Locke, Graham Bird, Artie Fawkes, Leonne Fawkes, and John Emmerson went into the event confident of shooting well but only one of the shooters managed to place.
