A mother and son found dead on the Gold Coast last week died in a murder-suicide, police have confirmed.

The body of Margaret Pakatyilla, 53, was found in the boot of her Volvo sedan outside her family’s Hillview Parade home in Ashmore about 8.30am on Friday.
Her son Mark, 28, was found dead inside.
Police said there were no obvious signs of a struggle.
‘‘Preliminary investigations suggest the death of the man is non-suspicious and the death of the woman is suspicious,’’ police said in a statement on Monday.
‘‘Police are preparing a report for the coroner.’’
Ms Pakatyilla lived at the house with her son and her elderly father.
It is understood Ms Pakatyilla’s 77-year-old mother, who also lived at the Ashmore home, died earlier this year.
