Mount Isa training group MIGATE was awarded $1500 to help fund its annual training award ceremony.
Operation manager Bonnie MacRae said the training award ceremony was important for recognising the businesses that host MIGATE apprentices and trainees, and to recognise apprentices and trainees from the previous year.
"Grants like this make it possible because we don't have a free-flowing amount of cash that we can just throw at these events," she said.
"At the moment we have a large focus on youth and school-based trainees and a lot of businesses are extremely supportive so we want to acknowledge that."
The Isa Rats triathlon club received $1500 to use towards future events.
Club president Kylie Baker said the club was grateful for the grant and the opportunity to get more activities up and running for the Rats.
The Happy Valley Community Kindergarten received a healthy $4000 towards the beautification of its outdoor play area.
Kindy president Kerry Cairns said the outdoor area was in 'desperate need of some TLC'.
"We are hoping to put down another surface so this grant will help nicely to clean the area up, and focus on giving a complete overhaul of the whole area," she said.
The Mount Isa Softball Association was the recipient of $5000 for an upcoming carnival.
The association has been suffering from dwindling numbers and will be using the funds to prepare the grounds before hosting an All Blacks carnival to boost the profile of the sport.
