Show society vice-president Tony Toholke said the group were happy to be in a position to give back to the community.
"We have had a couple of good years for the show so we want to give back to the community," Mr Toholke said. "The community supports us with the show, so we like to be able to return that support."
The $15,000 donation will be used for additional park benches and a shaded are. A rose garden is being contemplated for the area surrounding the columbarium.
Mount Isa Mayor Tony McGrady accepted the donation on behalf of the Mount Isa City Council and said he was delighted to receive the generous sum.
"This will allow us to create a nice space for people to come and grieve and benefit the community by enhancing the cemetery, which is an important place for many people," he said.
