MICRRH director Professor Sabina Knight announced the accolade at a board meeting on Friday, where she honoured the Kalkadoon elder's contribution to health care in outback Queensland and her time with the advisory board of the centre.
The announcement of the Karen West Board Room comes after the Mornington Island-based health worker received the unsung hero award at the National Rural Health Conference in Canberra last month.
