Eleven boys made up the singles draw, with six from Mount Isa, while six girls battled it out for the female team.
Four boys and four girls would be selected to represent the North West region at the Queensland State Primary Championships in Townsville.
The number one and two seeds were both from Mount Isa respectively, with Matthew Braithwaite and Akash Lakshman retaining their place in the team with brilliant performances through the trials.
The pair eventually meet in the finals, with Matthew triumphant 6-3 6-2 over a brave Akash.
Cameron Bowler and Christopher O'Toole battled it out for third and fourth positions, with the former proving too strong and holding onto third position.
The girls team saw Olivia Fricke (first), Vidhusha Lakshman (second), Helena Fricke (third) and Amber Aspinal from Richmond all gain selection following impressive performances.
The remaining players gained invaluable experience playing against high-quality opposition, and will eagerly look ahead to next year's state trials.
This weekend, Mount Isa and the Copper City Tennis Club will host the third round of the Medibank Junior Development Series, which will enable the North West team match practice ahead of State Titles in August.
This event is open to all registered players with the club, and proves a great opportunity for junior players to participate in a structured tournament.
