Traditional sponsor MIGATE have teamed up with the Mount Isa Chamber of Commerce to bring the event to the city for 2013.
With anticipation growing for several months, the theme has been announced - this year will become a "90th Bush Birthday Bash".
The Best Dressed Premises Awards will run from August 5 to 9, with the winners being announced on Thursday, August 8.
MIGATE chief executive officer Ron Pertovt said the company continues to sponsor the popular event, because of the community spirit that it fosters.
"We think it is important for the city to dress up and celebrate the rodeo and for us to encourage the businesses to do so," he said.
A panel of judges will assess each business for different aspects of the presentation, including staff participation, props, and presentation.
Mount Isa Rotary Rodeo Board secretary Tracy Pertovt said the annual event enhanced the rodeo atmosphere of the city in August.
"When people come into the city and when you talk to them in town, they say the spirit of rodeo is just amazing," she said. "It just ties the week together. Without Migate Best Dressed Premises, it would not feel like rodeo week."
Mount Isa Chamber of Commerce president Lorena Martyr said the awards were ingrained in celebratiions for the Isa Rodeo and she was always amazed at the level of participation and effort from businesses.
"It is great to see all the businesses out there really get into the event, and personally it gives me a chance to get out there and meet everyone," she said.
One of last years winners was Queensland Country Credit Union. Branch manager Graham Barram said it had become an institution for the Mount Branch since the competitions inception.
"I have been here for four years and even before I worked here I remembered coming down to see the display ," he said. Mr Barram said all the staff got involved and were looking forward to this year's competition. "Discussions and planning have already begun," he said.
