RODEO action wasn't strictly confined to Buchanan Park at the weekend, as "Canada" seemed to be the word on everyone's lips.

Canadian tattooist Krysta Noseworthy was the talk of the town over rodeo weekend, usurping the action inside the arena.
A female fight is seen as somewhat of a rarity compared to the host of male fighters who flock to Fred Brophy's Boxing Tent, so it was little wonder the amount of excitement generated by Noseworthy's pledge.
Noseworthy, who works on Sweers Island, flew into Mount Isa with her eyes fixed on Brophy's Boxing Tent after being tipped off by her employers and former Mount Isa residents.
"They told me I should go to the rodeo," Noseworthy said.
"When I heard about the boxing tent I thought that's something I really want to see."
It's fair to say the Canadian tourist saw plenty of the action, completing two fights of her own on Saturday and Sunday nights.
Her opponent on both occasions was The Beaver, aka Brettlyn Neal, who is the most formidable female fighter in Brophy's troupe.
Although she was defeated both times by the imposing Beaver, Noseworthy more than held her own.
"She acquitted herself well," Neal said.
"Particularly on the Sunday night."
Beaver, who has been boxing with Brophy for more than four years now, said Noseworthy was a more than capable opponent.
"I have been undefeated for more than 100 fights for Fred, but that was definitely my toughest fight yet," she said.
"I have fought two girls at once and a boy when they couldn't find any girls. But to date, my hardest fight would have to be Canada (Noseworthy)."
A roaming traveller for six years now, Noseworthy trained in Muay Thai boxing for several years but has received no formal boxing training.
Noseworthy has since left the Isa for Melbourne, where she will undertake a mixed martial arts training course with the ultimate aim of fighting professionally.
