It adds to a list of awards for Mrs Connolly, who owns and operates Curry Contracting with her husband, Adrian.
``While I am surprised and proud to have been selected as a semi-finalist in the Queensland Regional Achievement and Community Awards I don't have any expectations about becoming a finalist,'' she said.
``Come October I could be out of the running altogether so I'm not going to be anxiously awaiting the news and I will continue to do what I can in the community because I care, not because I might win an award.''
Earlier this year, her business, one committed to keeping her operations local, won employer of the year 2013 at the Queensland Manufacturing Industry Awards.
Mrs Connolly is a Kalkadoon woman who is dedicated to her country and her people, and passionate about Cloncurry.
She is dedicated to using every resource at her disposal, including the profit from her business, to make a real difference at the ``grassroots'' level within her community.
Having worked in education, health and mining, the knowledge, skills and experience she has acquired over her short lifetime allows Mrs Connolly to offer genuine support, mentoring and leadership to the community as a whole.
The semi finalists will be reviewed and the three finalists of the Styleprint Youth Leadership Award will be announced after judging on October 4, with the finalists presented at the gala presentation in November.
