Sydney Roosters supporter Cameron Gibson and Manly Sea Eagles fan Ron Eastburn (pictured) have a strong relationship for 364 days of the year, but come Sunday that all changes.
``The numbers are on our side - it will be our 13th premiership and the year is 2013,'' Mr Gibson remarks, opening a can of worms.
``It's pretty well matched as the games throughout the year have shown,'' Mr Eastburn retorts.
``I think the Eagles halves are going to do it,'' Mr Eastburn said.
``The wingers, centres and forwards are pretty well matched.
``I've known Cameron for a while now and I think he's a loser.''
Mr Gibson, whose son shares rugby league coaching legend Jack Gibson's name, said two new additions to the Roosters had paved the way for their 2013 campaign.
``I was a bit hesitant when he [Sonny Bill Williams] came to the club,'' he said.
``[I thought] is he going to fire? Is he going to stick around? But he has been a really good influence.
``The coach [Trent Robinson] has been a really calming influence on the sidelines too.''
Mr Eastburn, a passionate Manly supporter since 1972, said the contest would be decided by limiting errors.
``It won't be won up the middle, I think it will come down to who makes the most mistakes,'' he said.
``The teams have a lot of respect for each other and it will definitely be hard.''
Both supporters maintain their respective Sunday nights will be spent quietly in front of the television, however you can guarantee the winner won't be so silent upon the game's conclusion.
Mr Eastburn leaves the debate with a parting blow: ``The difference between the two sides isn't in positions.
``One bird is a majestic prey [Sea Eagle], while the other is a barn-house foul [Rooster].''
