The groundswell of support has come on the back of a swarm of juniors joining the ranks, eager to learn the fundamentals of tennis.
The reason Mount Isa is swarming to the tennis club is largely due to the new Queensland government-funded Getting Into The Game program.
The initiative, which started last week, will run for six weeks on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
The weekday sessions begin from 3.30pm, while Saturday's program starts at 8am.
Copper City Tennis spokeswoman Theresa Braithwaite said the initiative was suited to all ages.
``It's a lot about learning the basic skills of tennis,'' she said.
``We start at [ages] four or five up to adults. ``Increased participation and more members are the ultimate goals for us.''
Club coach Peta Starr will take the classes, which contain a maximum of eight students a session _ designed to give participants a more hands-on learning experience.
