The surgeons of Gold Coast's Pindara Private Hospital have revealed their hidden talents and sense of humour by making their own video clip for the best-selling song from Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera.

A plastic surgeon, orthopedic surgeon, oral and maxillofacial surgeon, emergency room physician, respiratory specialist, obstetrician and oncologist put their dance moves to the test for the spoof video, which premiered at their staff Christmas party.

In the clip, the doctors wore torn scrubs as they emulated the distinctive strutting of Rolling Stones' lead singer Mick Jagger, dancing through the hospital's corridors and surgical theatres.

The video was posted on YouTube on Tuesday and has so far garnered more than 54,000 hits.

The hospital's chief executive Trish Hogan played the part of pop princess Aguilera, wearing a gold figure-hugging dress, complete with a long, blonde wig.

"We all took dance classes in the weeks leading up to the shoot and we were quite terrible to begin with," Ms Hogan said.

It took more than six hours to film the clip on a Sunday evening, she said.

"And we had all done the bike ride from Brisbane to the Gold Coast that morning, but they are just used to pushing through ... they perform 13-hour-long operations at times and must remain focused," Ms Hogan said.

She said staff and members of the public had been very supportive of the video.

"In fact, one patient was about to go into surgery today and turned to our director of clinical surgery and said, 'I hope you've got the moves like Jagger in there'.

"The response has been amazing.

"It was a celebration of the end of the year. We can't be serious all the time. It's good to make fun of yourself sometimes."

Moves Like Jagger was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 54th Grammy Awards and there's no saying the doctors will not receive similar accolades for their choreography.
