Mount Isa Potter's Group gallery director Michele Savoye said artists such as Sue Carson, Mary Watts, Anna Kehoe and Cherlyn Wright would have work available to buy during the gallery's Christmas sale on Saturday.
``Anna Kohoe makes little paintings on canvas that are full of colour,'' she said. ``We also have handmade silk scarves by Deanne Ivers.''
She said Mount Isa residents who purchased works of art for friends and family would feel good knowing their money went towards supporting local artists.
``There are a few people who already have started entering their work in the gallery, and they bring stuff in - little by little we get more in,'' she said.
``They [Mount Isa artists] are very enthusiastic and very positive about their work.''
The Mount Isa Potter's Group gallery, located on Alma Street in front of Rugby Park, is open from 9am to 4.30pm this Saturday for its Christmas sale and every Wednesday (9am-4.30pm) and Saturday morning (9am-1pm) in the lead-up to Christmas.
