How long have you been involved in Queen Quest?
I was a queen myself in 2008, so I signed up in late 2007.
I was really involved in hockey back in those days and we needed some hardcore fund-raising with a goal to do a few things around the association.
I had always had a love of rodeo myself and said maybe we should put an entrant in to help with funding and it ended up being me.
How did you make the jump over to organising the quest?
It wasn't until last year I started co-ordinating; I think it was January it all began.
It's been a very big learning curve, but it's very fun to be involved with it all and seeing the inside of rodeo itself too - it's taught me how to be a bit more organised.
How do you juggle the co-ordinator role and owning a business?
It's not too bad actually. I generally try to get everything done in work hours so it doesn't affect family life too much, but there are always going to be meetings and other events outside of those hours so it's just about balancing it all.
How long do you plan to have your finger in the rodeo pie?
I'll do this year [the 2014 quest] and assess then to see what I'll do next year.
I've just joined Rotary as well so I'll be involved in the club and the other small stuff this year and will keep up with that too.
