The general manager position will be discontinued and replaced with two senior management roles to work across both Mount Isa Mines and EHM sites.
A Glencore representative confirmed late last week that Matt O'Neill would take over as chief mining officer and Richard Harvey would step in as the chief processing officer.
Both positions will ultimately report to newly-appointed chief operating officer of North Queensland Copper Assets Mike Westerman.
Mr Johnston had worked at the site for close to four years when he announced his resignation, but Mr Westerman said the loss provided an opportunity to streamline the two sites.
``Myles has made a significant contribution to EHM and within the Cloncurry community during his three and a half years as our GM, and I'd like to thanks Myles for his strong leadership during what's been a busy time,'' Mr Westerman said.
``Our new team is well placed to deal with future challenges and take operations forward.''
