"Everything is multi-purpose in America, very few facilities are set up specifically for rodeo," Mr Hodges said at the three-day event which has earned Mount Isa the tag of Rodeo Capital.
"This is as good as it gets.
"It's great that the audience is close to the action and can feel a part of it."
He said the arena and facilities were 100 per cent up there with the best in the world.
"The talent here is amazing. The only thing different to an American rodeo is the accents."
Rotary manager Patricia Esdaile said while final numbers had not been tallied by late yesterday, she was expecting the weekend's crowd to break previous attendance records.
"The people who stayed for the entertainment on Saturday night did not want to go home!" she said. "Everywhere you go, everyone is happy to be here."
Great weather, traditional hospitality, plenty of food and drink, teams of volunteers and some outstanding rodeo action combined to put a smile on every patron.
