As of yesterday morning the Leichhardt River (Nardoo) to Gregory Road, Gregory to Burketown Road, Burketown via Armraynald to Floraville Road and Lawn Hill Road (Gregory to Century Mine Access Road) remained open to all vehicles.
Camooweal Road (Gregory to Shire Boundary), the Doomadgee East Road (Burketown to Doomadgee), Doomadgee to the Northern Territory Border (Savannah Way), Lawn Hill Doomadgee Road and Bowthorn Road were closed to all vehicles.
Four wheel drive vehicles with a high clearance still had access to the Lawn Hill National Park Road, Riversleigh Road (to the shire boundary) and Lawn Hill Road (Century Mine turnoff to Lawn Hill Station Access Road).
The report warned drivers that seasonal rains could cut off roads without notice and motorists should proceed on open roads with extreme caution, especially when crossing running water.
The latest information on road closures can be found on the Burke Shire Council website at www.burke.qld.gov.au.
