The Mount Isa Mixed Martial Arts member will take on Brisbane's Kleanthis Maniotis (three wins from six fights) in Emerald this weekend at Unarmed Combat Unleashed II.
The pair will battle it out in the 93-kilogram weight division, while fellow Isan Graeme Cummins faces Blackwater's Matty Cooper in the 84kg fight.
Godfrey (three wins from four fights) had his heart in his mouth last Saturday, when he received a call telling him his opponent had pulled out of tomorrow's fight.
It comes after Godfrey's fight at Cage Rage III was also cancelled.
This time however, the MMA gods looked after Godfrey, with new opponent Maniotis recruited in the 11th hour.
Godfrey said it was ``frustrating'' to hear he nearly lost another opportunity to fight, but now has his mind firmly fixed on Brisbane's Maniotis.
``There has been a change of plan tactically,'' he said.
``He's a bit shorter so I will use my range a bit more, keep the distance and not let him get in too close so he can take me to ground.
``He is a little muscley bloke so I assume he is pretty strong on the ground.''
Godfrey is set for a hectic day of travel today, arriving in Emerald at about 3pm just hours before tonight's weigh-in.
Usually the days before weigh-in are solely focused on shedding mass, with a host of techniques - including hours in the sauna - utilised.
Godfrey won't be afforded that luxury today, instead rushing from airport to airport just to arrive at his fighting destination.
``It's not too bad. I'll be thirsty for 24 hours instead of 12,'' he said.
``It would be nice to use the sauna all day before weigh-in but I'll just have to adapt.
``It shouldn't be too rough.''
Besides that minor hurdle, Godfrey believes his preparation has been spotless, and is confident of a positive result come tomorrow night.
``It has been really good,'' he said.
``The weight has come down nicely and now I've only got 3-4kg to go [as of Wednesday night].
``My timing and reactions are all there and so far I'm injury free.
``I'm always confident.
``I wouldn't be going if I wasn't confident.''
