Residents banded together to scour the city and bushland for any signs of the teen.
Facebook was the tool of choice for many to raise awareness.
A number of Mount Isans replaced their profile pictures with images of Kyle, designed to spread the word about his appearance and the circumstances of his disappearance.
Others printed and distributed flyers as the search continued yesterday.
There was also a suggestion this weekend's Clean Up Australia Day could serve a dual purpose to clean up the city and re-search areas of the city for Kyle.
Mount Isa mother Norbryn Eyre said she wasn't equipped to help with the search effort, but found another way to help.
Yesterday, during her day off, she prepared food for volunteers and emergency services working on the case.
``I was wondering where I could do something because I work four days on two days off,'' she said.
``Unfortunately I can't help with the search, but I can help with food.
``My daughters dropped bottled water to Popeys [Kyle's workplace] and sandwiches to the guys at the SES office.''
Mrs Eyre said it was amazing to see everything the community was doing to support the search.
