Mr Mutimbe’s colleagues become concerned about the 59-year-old electrician’s welfare after he didn’t turn up for a shift at Mount Isa Mines late last month.
Police do not believe he is to be in possession of a motor vehicle and was reported missing to police by his employer on March 6.
His absence was also noticed at the Argylla Caravan Park where he resides.
Inspector Trevor Kidd said investigators spoke to Mr Mutimbe’s workmates and employer to get more information about where he went.
Mr Mutimbe is an Australian citizen who was born in Zimbabwe.
He was last seen at Mount Isa Mines on February 28.
Mr Mutimbe was described by police as 180 cm tall with a solid build, black hair, brown eyes and a dark complexion, and is of African-Zimbabwe decent.
