From day one we have had an ambitious Can-Do plan to get Queensland back on track. We have a relentless focus on delivering our election promises.

Our priority from the get-go has been about improving frontline services. Already there are more than 700 additional police on the beat, we've increased funding for Queensland Fire and Emergency Services and added more prep-teacher aids in our schools.

We've injected an extra $1.2 billion into the health budget, elective surgery waiting lists are now the best in the country and unlike the former government our hard working doctors and nurses are now getting paid.

We have said we would lower the cost of living for families and we've done that. We froze family car registration for the first term, halved planned public transport fare increases that were set to go up by 15 per cent each year under the previous Labor Government. Today it's more than $7000 cheaper to buy your first home and we also lowered stamp duty.

We are committed to growing our four-pillar economy, and for the first time, in a long time, we are now seeing our economy leading the way. Our economy is growing at a rate of 4.1 per cent compared to just 1.9 per cent nationwide. Our tourism industry is booming with more than $3.5 billion extra being injected into Queensland's economy under this government.

For the first time in Queensland history, we're releasing ministers' diaries and made it illegal to lie to Parliament. When it comes to restoring accountability in government we've gone above and beyond including our push to make all government data more accessible through our Open Data program.

And from the beginning, we've been up front when it comes to the state's finances and the need to look at ways to pay back the debt we inherited. Treasurer Tim Nicholls is currently having the conversation with Queenslanders about the options we have to pay down the $80 billion debt with $4 billion a year in interest payments that could be spent building new hospitals, schools or roads. Labor unions have already declared their hand saying they would prefer to see the Government increase taxes. Labor is yet to say how it would sort out this challenge that threatens our economic recovery.

With a year to go before the next election, it's now up to Queensland to have a close look at what an alternate government looks like.

Do they want a Government with a real plan or a group that has more politicians than policies?

Labor has no position on the issues that matter to Queenslanders and no positive plan for the state. Queenslanders deserve better from a party that is supposed to be an alternative Government.

We have already accomplished so much, but there is still a long way to go.

Unlike the alternative, we have a strong plan to get there.
