Kristee Shepherd, a former Mount Isa resident and volunteer Spinal Education Awareness Program speaker for Spinal Injuries Australia, was nominated to meet William, Kate and George at a special function in Brisbane on Saturday.
The 28-year-old, who was left a paraplegic after jumping from a balcony at James Cook University 10 years ago, said the number one question that people had asked her since the nomination went public was what she planned to wear for the occasion.
Miss Shepherd's wicked sense of humour emerged when she revealed the outfit she had planned for the big meeting.
``Anyone who knows me knows I have an obsession with crazy leggings from a company called Black Milk, and that's pretty much the staple of my cupboard - it's all I wear,'' she said.
``I have these pink and black Union Jack ones and I keep telling people I'm going to wear them.
``I did buy a pair of black and silver tights so I might try to be a bit more reserved with my choice.''
Miss Shepherd said the dress code wasn't the only thing she had to remember come Saturday. ``My invitation came with a long list of rules about how to address them and not to offer a hand unless one has been offered to you,'' she said.
``I'm really excited just to be nominated, and I'm also excited that Spinal Injuries Australia was asked to have someone represented there.
``I don't know if I'll get too much of a chance to tell them about us, but it will be an honour in itself.''
