Mount Isa's Sri Lankan community committee president Gihan Dissanayake said the gathering was the second event of its kind in the city.
The addition of Sri Lankans from Cloncurry shire will see numbers swell to more than 50 for the festivity.
``If you lived in Sri Lanka it [Singhalese and Tamil New Year] is a massive celebration,'' he said.
``I started it when I came last year as a social event.
``We have 12 fun games, which we will give first, second and third gifts out for.''
