Boulia will host the Easter Races on Saturday as well as a campdraft and rodeo this weekend.
The mammoth weekend will lift the region's spirit after struggling with drought, according to Boulia Turf Club president Charlie Roberts.
``The people really need to support events like this because it really lifts the community no matter how tough times are,'' he said.
``It's a shot in the arm and it will really pick the community up after a tough season.''
Boulia will host a five-race card on Saturday, headlined by the $8000 Open Handicap (1400 metres).
Roberts said it would be a huge three days in Boulia this weekend, with the campdraft and rodeo sure to pull out-of-towners.
``The nominations are strong and the weather is going to be beautiful,'' he said.
``There's 900 nominations for the campdraft so it will be a really good show this weekend and should bring a lot of people in.
``At the race club we're prepped for more than 3000 people so we're hopeful Mount Isa families come down and make use of the excellent camping facilities.''
The campdraft will take place Friday night and Saturday morning before attention turns to the Boulia Turf Club.
The traditional Champagne Luncheon and Fashions of the Field will ensure plenty of entertainment, with DJ Richo additionally providing music late into the night.
The campdraft will resume again on Sunday, before handing the reigns over to the rodeo in the afternoon.
