Twenty people allegedly tried to break into a pub at Urandangi, southwest of Mt Isa.

Police said 10 people barricaded themselves inside the hotel, while the group outside threw rocks at the building, damaged cars, and made threats.

Police attended the scene just before midnight, arresting five men and two women, aged 23 to 47.

Those charged are all from the Northern Territory and have been charged with numerous offences, including break and enter with intent, wilful damage, unlawful assembly and threatening violence.

They will appear in Mount Isa Magistrates court from Tuesday April 22.
