POLICE from Mount Isa, the Northern Territory and Boulia responded to an urgent call after 10 people barricaded themselves inside a hotel on Saturday night.

Sergeant Simon Taylor, of Mount Isa police, said police responded to a call from the owner of the Urandangi Hotel about 11.50pm.
``Approximately 20 people were in town from the Northern Territory and were trying to break into the pub,'' Sergeant Taylor said.
He said the owner, along with 10 other people, locked themselves into the licensed premises until police arrived.
Five officers from Mount Isa, including two dog handlers, along with officers from the Northern Territory and Boulia attended the incident.
``There has been some damage to the pub and some vehicles that were outside,'' Sergeant Taylor said.
Police will allege the group damaged cars, threw rocks and threatened harm to the people who had barricaded themselves inside.
Five men aged 42, 33, 23, 32 and 47 and two women aged 31 and 42, all from the Northern Territory, have been charged with an array of offences including break and enter with intent, attempted robbery, wilful damage, unlawful assembly and threatening violence.
They will appear in the Mount Isa Magistrates Court from April 22.
