When it opens, the 150 seat waiting room will dramatically reduce general practice waiting lists in Mount Isa, Super Clinic manager Matthew Cain said.
``We anticipate that with reduce dramatically,'' Mr Cain said.
Mr Cain is new to the role and formerly a Mount Isa Mines acting supply contracts manager.
Mr Cain's new role is to co-ordinate the various health providers that will eventually be based at the clinic and will work with Mount Isa Centre of Rural and Remote Health and Gidgee Healing.
Services provided at the clinic will include general practice services, a pharmacy, physiologists, dieticians, chronic disease management, and skin screening.
The centre also has facilities for occupation health monitoring - including drug and alcohol testing.
Staff from Barkley Medical Centre will relocate to the clinic based at the site that used to be the former Town Leagues Club.
The clinic has 17 consultation rooms but Mr Cain said many of these rooms will not be used when it first opens.
Mr Cain expects the number of services at the clinic to expand after three to six months.
The clinic's floor size is 1500 square metres, making it the largest clinic owned by Sonic Health Plus in Australia.
