The 860 runs in the campdraft included 23 steer riders and 21 bull riders, Mr Neilson said.
``It was definitely above an average crowd this year,'' Mr Neilson said.
Committee members were expecting low numbers because they believed farmers might not have as much money to spend because of the drought.
Mr Neilson said it was unclear why numbers were high this year.
The Station Challenge was an event Mr Neilson especially enjoyed.
Mr Neilson said participants - most of them men - were dressed in women's clothing and then had to race to the finish line as part of the challenge.
Mr Neilson thanked committee members including Charlie Roberts, Clare McNeven, Jade Sacipovic and Julie Dorries for their hard work organising the rodeo.
