Last month, the company decreased from nine to six business units during a restructure.
Ergon Energy Townsville corporate communications manager John Fowler flagged a small number of redundant positions during the transition.
But people would not be made redundant as part of the changes, Mr Fowler said.
``Exact numbers are not known at this stage as management positions are still to be finalised in some of the business units,'' he said.
Mr Fowler said the restructure was part of a ``significant'' reform program which would take place in the next two years.
``The new structure is intended to ensure Ergon is in the strongest possible position to deliver on our revised strategic direction which places customers at the centre of everything we do,'' Mr Fowler said.
