Set for action on June 20 and 21 at Buchannan Park Arena, 40 of the nation's most accomplished bull riders will make the journey west to Mount Isa with a hope in taking a share of more than $10,000 in prize money and earn much-needed tour points to secure a position in the upcoming July Cup Series events.
As an additional incentive for the best riders in the nation to contest this event, there will be one allocated wildcard position to the Cairns Invitational event on July 5.
Previously, administration would allocate this wildcard entry, however, this year every rider has a chance to win the opportunity.
Right from the beginning of the tour it has been a battle of two Queensland riders for the number one position, Ben Seeds and Justin Paton.
However, in the past few months it has been three-times Australian champion, Dave Kennedy, of Kyogle, New South Wales, who has been edging his way up the standings as he positions himself for a shot at a record-breaking fourth Australian title.
Mount Isa is an event that each and every rider is eager to excel in because of its positioning on the PBR Tour.
It is one of the last two qualifying events for the season-ending national finals at Sydney's Allphones Arena on July 19.
It doesn't matter if a rider is number one or number 40 in the standings, the leaders are doing their best to maintain their position and the lower-placed riders are aiming to increase their positioning.
Combining this drive and motivation will create two nights of spectacular bull riding action for the spectators.
It is one thing to watch the PBR's action live, however, with the mega-screen, combined with slow-motion replays, multiple camera angles, fans are treated to a night of entertainment and bull riding.
Even if you are a first-time visitor to a PBR event, by the end of each performance you will have a better understanding and respect for the sport.
