Billionaire, MP and dinosaur enthusiast Clive Palmer is opening up his Palmer Coolum Resort for a weekend of free festivities for residents of his Fairfax electorate. 10.00am. Pattern Bandits. Brisbane artist Jemima Wyman has transformed GOMA's Children's Art Centre to explore the relationships between pattern, people and architecture. Children can enter the brightly coloured and highly patterned world of the artist and explore different patterns, from kaleidoscopes, tessellations, camouflage and harlequin, with specially designed hands-on and multimedia and activities. Five contemporary artists have paid tribute to the beloved Brisbane author by creating new works for this special exhibition, inspired by the themes and layers of his works. 10.00am. Outside in Art. This initiative was developed in 2012 to help indigenous inmates upon their release from correctional centres develop their interest in art.
