Opposition leader Annastacia Palaszczuk has thrown down the gauntlet and "dared" the government to follow Labor's lead, announcing a "corruption fighting" policy which would reverse the government's political donation laws and restore bipartisan support to the state's corruption watchdog.

Announcing the policy in Parliament's Dandiir Room on Tuesday, the same room where disgraced MP Scott Driscoll declared his innocence last year, Ms Palaszczuk borrowed from a popular union campaign to vow "democracy is not for sale'' under Labor.
The opposition has pledged to continue declaring any donations over $1000 to the electoral commission and has challenged the government to follow suit, promising to make the reversal retrospective to November 2013 if Labor wins government, meaning all donations to political parties over $1000 between now and the hypothetical then would have to be disclosed.
The $1000 cap was put in place in the final years of the Bligh government.
Previously it was $1500.
Earlier this year the government changed the state's electoral and political donation laws, raising the declaration threshold from $1000 to $12,400, in line with the federal limit.
The government also linked the declaration limit to the federal amount - if it is changed federally, the state's declaration limit
will automatically adjust.
Ms Palaszczuk said it was not good enough.
"I am putting it on notice to all the parties today - make sure your records are accurate, because they will be disclosed when Labor is back in power," she said.
"They will definitely be disclosed.
"I have had a conversation with Anthony Chisholm, the state secretary, and he is more than happy to comply with these requirements.
"...Every donation that Labor receives over $1000 will be declared and I challenge the LNP and I challenge Campbell Newman, stand up and do the honourable thing, do this for the sake of Queensland and make your donations open and transparent."
Ms Palaszczuk also took aim at the changes to the Crime and Corruption Commission, previously the Crime and Misconduct Commission, in a policy announcement she said had been in the works since late 2013 when the government sacked the Parliamentary oversight committee, which had been chaired by independent MP Liz Cunningham.
"We must have a truly strong, independent, anti-corruption watchdog in this state and at the moment Queenslanders do not have confidence that that is the case," she said.
Labor's policy would see a non-government member chair the parliamentary oversight committee and reinstate bipartisan support for the commission's chair.
Chairs, commissioners and the CEO appointments to the commission would be limited to three months if there was not bipartisan support, under the policy.
"This is a government that is making a lot of decisions and this is a government that has changed the laws to suit themselves," Ms Palaszczuk said.
"...It is not good for democracy in Queensland. It is not good for integrity and accountability and it is the Newman government that is throwing out Tony Fitzgerald's legacy."
The government has maintained that any changes it has made to the state's corruption commission have been to make it "stronger" and has rejected criticism, saying it has equipped the commission to act in the way Tony Fitzgerald intended following his corruption inquiry.
Speaking from Toowoomba, deputy premier Jeff Seeney said he was "surprised Labor had formulated a position on anything".
"It's ironic that their first policy is simply to reject something the government has done," he said.
"What's their plan to get Queensland's budget back on track, or to create jobs for Queenslanders? How do they plan to fix the health system, improve education for our kids? They don't have any policies on the things that really matter to Queenslanders."
