Murphy recorded scores of 60, 80, 74 and 74 across the four days of play, to end with a total of 298.
The Mount Isa product reaffirmed his position as one of the region’s top golfers, beating more than 100 competitors to claim the crown.
Jacob Smith claimed the Open Nett Championship with solid scores of 65, 63, 69 and 71 (268 total).
Earlier in the event, the Ruri brothers Mike and Manu secured the Open Foursomes Championships.
A score of 109 gross and 99.25 nett was enough to secure them another doubles award, and narrowly beat Jacob Smith and Robbie Murphy (on 120 gross and 106.5 nett).
Duo Dean Morris and Phil Sweeney shot a 130 gross (102.25 nett) to win the Open Foursomes Nett Championship.
Morris and Sweeney held their nerve to edge out runners-up Greg Bellinger and Andrew Richardson (121 gross and 105.25 nett).
Open co-ordinator Greg Bellinger was thrilled with the numbers and level of play by all involved.
“We had over 100 men and 20 women compete in the Open, so I was thrilled with the numbers,” he said.
“It was great to see people like Ross and Patty Thompson [Brisbane] and John Kapeechkin [Ayr] come from out of town and play.”
Bellinger credited all the staff and players for making the tournament as successful as it was.
“Everyone brought a high quality of stroke play to the course, which really pushed each player to be at their best,” he said.
“Robbie was able to go back to back in the Open, but he didn’t have it all his own way, with a number of men on his tail.”
