An estimated five kilograms of high-grade heroin, with an estimated value $2 million, was seized along with amphetamines, cocaine and cannabis.

Police also seized $2.2 million of property, $950,000 cash, four luxury cars and a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Detective Superintendent Jon Wacker said of the 87 charged, 10 ringleaders were arrested under the Queensland Government’s Vicious Lawless Association Disestablishment laws.

“This organised syndicate, we estimate, have been turning over approximately $160,000 per week and they’ve been dealing to up to 100 persons a day,” he said.

“We do believe this would be a major heroin supply syndicate in the Brisbane area.

“We’ve thrown a lot of resources at it and to finally close down this highly sophisticated syndicate, it's a great job.”

There were 44 people arrested this week as part of the operation codenamed Lima Radiate.

Detective Superintendent Wacker said police dismantled the syndicate in stages. In January they seized 3.3 kilograms of heroin from an Oxley house before the operation was closed on Friday with a series of arrests.

One of the syndicate’s members was arrested on Wednesday at an alleged drug lab in Brighton where police also located explosives.

Outlaw motorcycle club members were not among those arrested, with police also executing search warrants across Brisbane and on the Sunshine and Gold coasts.

Detective Superintendent Wacker said the Brisbane syndicate had links to a Sydney group, which in turn likely imported the drugs from overseas.
