Firefighters were called to the two-storey Queenslanders on Prospect Street, Wynnum, about 8pm to find flames had engulfed the lower levels and the roof of the property.

"The house was completely destroyed as result of the blaze, however, no one was injured," a police spokesman said.

Investigations are continuing.

Meanwhile, investigations are also continuing in a fatal house fire at Runaway Bay on the Gold Coast.

A man’s body was found at the Pebble Beach Drive property about lunchtime on Wednesday, three days after the house was destroyed by fire.

The victim is yet to be formally identified.

Fire investigators will also return to a Scenic Rim property, which was gutted by fire on Wednesday.

Fire engulfed the Biddaddaba home, about 45 kilometres west of Surfers Paradise, just after 9am.

Authorities initially feared a man, woman and child were trapped inside the home, but the family was later found safe and well.
