Mount Isa is joining in the challenge to form the World’s Longest Bra Chain – and the city needs 3500 bras to contribute to the 200,000 needed for the world record as part of Korie’s Cancer Free Challenge.
The collection in Paint and Decor has been a talking point among local painters and now Helloworld Travel has a competition where you could win a $50 travel voucher if you drop your spare bra and $2 into the shop.
The Commonwealth Bank in Mount Isa also has a bra display on a camping clothesline and is challenging other banks and credit unions in the city to match or beat their collection.
Bras can be used, but clean, or you can buy a new bra to donate.
Some have been decorated and have messages to loved ones on them.
Local co-ordinator for the challenge Sue Wicks said: “It is wonderful that local businesses are on board, giving us more places to drop bras and donations in.”
Anyone interested in becoming a workplace collection point, for their own staff or for the public, can contact Sue Wicks on 0417743668.
